Bedwetting in Families
Posted by admin on June 25th, 2009 filed in Bed Wetting SuppliesLets look at some facts about bedwetting and what I have learned to solve this problem for my son.
Bedwetting is not the child’s fault and children should never be punished for wetting the bed. To help prevent wetting the bed, children should empty their bladder just before bedtime. Bedwetting tends to run in families. Many children who wet the bed have a parent who did too.

Bedwetting, or Enuresis, can actually be a problem based upon abnormally deep sleep, one that is so resistant to arousal that the bedwetter’s brain cannot automatically keep the bladder shut during sleep. Experience shows that one should not wait until the child outgrows the problem, because then they may be left with a sleep disorder that can no longer be treated.
Bedwetting is classified as either primary or secondary enuresis. While primary enuresis describes conditions in which bedwetting starts and continues from infancy, secondary enuresis refers to cases in which bedwetting resumes after a child has already learned to control his bladder through the night.
Bedwetting is twice as common in boys than girls. Bedwetting is more of a problem than just running a load of wet sheets to the washer before rushing off to work. It is an annoyance for the whole family.
Bedwetting is common challenge for families with preschool-aged children. Around 40 percent of 4-year-olds wet the bed several times a week. Bedwetting alarms are designed to assist bedwetters in training their brains to react to their full bladders by awakening and using the toilet.
A bedwetting alarm “senses” moisture as the first drops of urine are released, and sounds a shrill alarm, awakening the sleeper..,Bedwetting alarms come in three styles: wearable alarms, wireless alarms, and bell-and-pad alarms. The enuresis alarm may be an effective treatment for bedwetting with cure rates approaching 75%. but this doesnt always work.In my son’s case it woke him distressed, crying for 10-15 min unable to sleep.
Bed wetting can also be due to a maturational delay in the development of bladder musculature and its ability to withstand the pressure of a large urine volume.
Bedwetting is also not related to one’s dreams. Many people believe that if someone dreams of water, that person is more likely to wet the bed.
Bedwett
ing may run in families. Research has shown that if the father wet the bed as a child, there is a 39 percent greater chance the child will wet the bed, and if the mother has a history of enuresis, there is a 23 percent greater chance. Bedwetting-medically termed enuresis-is an embarrassing and difficult problem for a child. His self-esteem may suffer. It affects different people in different ways.
Bedwetting can cause a lack of self-image, self-esteem and lead to other problems. They can’t go to camp or stay over with friends without putting fear or stress on themselves.
Bedwetting can be caused by an inherited deep-sleep disorder, causing the bedwetter to spend most of the night in Stage 4 sleep, which is an oxygen-deprived sleep. Thus, when a person is deprived of oxygen for extended periods of time at night–affecting the BRAIN, bloodstream, muscles and all other organs–the resulting symptoms can be identical to those of ADD/ADHD, (the inability to concentrate or pay attention, forgetfulness, failure to complete tasks, distractibility, etc.).
Enuresis can be devastating to children.
I have found an all natural way to stop this and other childhood problems that takes just 5 min.
